  • A friendly, helpful and knowledgeable CA Tech will chat with you.
  • You will be able to have a first visit promptly {usually within a few hours of your call}
  • The first visit is approx. 45minutes in length.
  • You will be asked to fill in a few forms regarding such info as your address, your complaint.
  • Dr. Gustavson will then meet with you and will take a very detailed medical history from you.
  • You may then have a procedure called a Surface EMG done on your spine. (For muscle spinal imbalance.)
  • This may be followed by a set of x-rays.
  • Dr. Gustavson will discuss your x-rays with you.

Depending on the your condition, Dr. Gustavson will use various techniques and modalities during treatment.

SURFACE EMG SCAN is a computer that reads muscle function; similar to an "EKG" of the heart. Electrodes are placed on your back muscles to determine if your nerves and muscles are working properly. (EMG stands for "Electromyography")

ULTRA SOUND

THERAPEUTIC HEAT for the decrease in joint stiffness and relaxation of muscle contractions.

ELECTRO THERAPY (a procedure where an electrical current is passed across the skin and is intended for the symptomatic relief of a large number of painful syndromes).

KINESIOTAPE

A set of x-rays may be taken depending on your condition. (There is an extra fee for the X-rays.)

  • X-rays will confirm other examination findings, and make your adjustments more precise.
  • Visualize the location of spinal problems.
  • Reveal pathologies and degeneration.
  • Show a history of your spinal stresses.

You will receive a chiropractic treatment that uses a combination of modalities and techniques.

The Graston Technique incorporates a patented form of stainless steel instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization that effectively detect and treat scar tissue and restrictions that affect normal functions.

The Thompson Technique uses an adjusting table with a segmented drop system, which quickly lowers the section of the patient’s body corresponding with the spinal region being adjusted. Minimal force is applied because while the thrust initiates movement, the fast drop carries the joint through the remainder of its range of motion.

The Cox Table was designed to restore normal physiological range of motion to the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spinal joints. Flexion-Decompression manipulation is a non-force adjusting procedure, which works with the body's natural design to aid the body to heal properly.

The Activator corrects dysfunction using a small tool which delivers a light and measured force to correct misalignments.

The Diversified Technique is a quick technique used on a specific vertebral segment of the spine that generally results in the popping sound as the adjustment is made.
